Not much of a run tonight. My wife came out with me, which is always awesome. We jogged about a 1/4-mile down our street and from there my wife timed me as I ran a half-mile. The only problem was as I ran down the street I came upon a crowd of people gathered around piles of garbage that had been dumped in the road. The commotion and obstacles interrupted my run, so I turned back and didn't get an official time. All in all it ended up being a short but faster-paced run.
And the night was perfect. It was a hot day up in the desert, so the night, though still warm, cooled down just enough to be at that perfect temperature for running. The sunset was stunning. I'm looking forward to these upcoming summer nights, when I can run for miles in the lukewarm night air and hear only my footsteps and the peaceful quiet of the desert.
