I ran my mid-week half-mile tonight, to disappointing results. I ran a 3:59, which is 20 seconds slower than the half-mile I ran two weeks ago. My first quarter felt strong tonight, but as soon as I turned at the half way point to head back, I was met with a steady wind, and I just couldn't seem to build any momentum.
I may switch up my routine this week and run a mile tomorrow night and rest Friday. I have to help put on a track banquet in Barstow Friday evening and so I may not get a chance to run. I think the things I really need to work on are breathing and pushing my pace. I'm still working out where exactly my breaking points are. I'm looking forward to school getting out (2 more weeks) when I can go to the gym in the morning and run at night. I think then my conditioning will finally improve at a faster pace.
