As soon as the Lakers defeated the Celtics in an exhilarating game 6 of the NBA Finals, I was off on my run. My time yesterday was 8:44, and as I said in my last post, I'm aiming to be permanently out of the 9 minute range so that I can begin increasing my distance. Even though I didn't feel like I would be sub-9 tonight, I somehow ran an 8:42. As soon as I set out on my run my legs felt stiff and achy. Also, it was windy tonight and I was afraid that would cause me to tire more quickly. But inexplicably I ran 2 seconds faster than yesterday. Tomorrow I'll be working on my half-mile again, and Thursday's a rest day, but Friday I'll be back at my same old mile route to try my hand at one more sub-9 mile.
